Hello everyone, my name is complearning123 aka Stephen. I currently reside in San Diego, CA. As my user name infers I am learning all about computers. They say you can't teach an old dog new tricks but my answer to that is "but I still think like a pup!" Besides, I was born on May 29th and that is Bob Hope's birthday as well, so you see there's HOPE for me! lol. Anyway, I am male 54 and look forward to learning here and helping out as much as I can. Howdy Ya'll from Dallas texas. I'm a newbe to the Android world. All of my experance is with PCs with MS Os and some Unix hands on. I haven't really gotten inot Android and now I'm interested in how it works. To this end I have purchased a couple of Maylong m270s, a Nextbook, a Arnova 10 G2 and a Visual Land 10. They where all purchased broken on eBay. Most where power connector repairs and all are now working somewhat. The next step is to learn how to load firmware, root each of them and be able to modify some of the Linux or googleware. I guess the first thing is to learn how to root them. Any and all assistance will be graciously excepted.

I was directed to this forum for some tips and tweaks for a coby 7015 that I recently purchased. I dont know much about the tablet except that its cheap and tearing it apart will give me something to do on long boring winter days.

Phone: Samsung Galaxy SII/ATT with grandfathered unlimited data plan (ain't giving THAT up any time soon!) upgraded 4.3
Have you ever own a Tablet prior to the Android Smartphone? had tablet 6 months before first SII phone
Are you using Nexus 7? bought one for spouse and RETURNED it... NO SD CARD memory slot. for SHAME google!!!

ok, the main reason I am here is because I am going to want to root, and eventually install clockwork rom, and everything
to my new dedicated purpose (I am going to use this machine, without games, as strictly a writing machine .
According to my order ,it has Android 4.2 already, so I am 1/2way there.
I would appreciate being given acces to the MVP250 (and other maylong) discussion boards

I've been working with computers of all kinds since the old Atari days, and currently work in the IT biz (system and database administration) on everything from desktops to the BIG BLUE hardware, but I am just getting into Android. I've worked with several different flavors of Unix/Linux over the years, and DOS/Windows as it grew up.
Right now I'm just starting to play with a (very) cheap Visual Land Prestige/PRO7G/Prestige-7G:4.1.1/JRO03C/20130731.V006:user/release-keys
and am learning LOTS from basically making it unoperable, to barely working
Hopefully I can get some of this soaked up soon and move on to some more advanced stuff!

Mister Scott here! I joined the forum in January of 2012 after purchasing a few basic Panimage tablets for the family. My main reason for joining was to learn more about the Android platform and, also, to find fixes for the tablets I had bought since it ran slow, couldn't access the Google app market, etc.
Most of the above problems were corrected after gaining insight from Tipstir and the other forum members. And, after realizing this tablet's limitations, we later upgraded to some better devices. But, we still have the old Panimage tablets and I still enjoy using it from time to time when one of my other devices needs to recharge.
In sum, this is a great place to find help and upgrades for your Android device and, also, to learn more about the Android operating system.
